Window fix...
Dealer will overcharge for those (I paid $3 each - found out later my indie gets 'em for a buck); I've done four of them on my cars.
Search the forums - its been posted on here in both the "correct" method and creative methods.
"Correct" = taking the regulator out of the door (PIA) and putting the new nylon slider in using a press
"Creative" - I drill out the pin (or rivet) from the arm of the regulator; disassemble the new slider (its two pieces) & discard the steel pin. At the hardware you can get a two piece threaded "binder post" that you use in its place - put the female half in the slider and snap it back together. Put the slider in the rail, line up the the hole in the regulator arm and screw the "binder post" together (obviously through the hole).
The creative fix is working well on all four I've replaced. Hint - get steel, not aluminum (alyouminyum as you blokes call it) binder posts. Don't ask me why I know that (allright, you asked - four windows, five repairs - sheared an alum. post on the first fix).
Since you already have the door panel off (or you have x-ray vision), you're halfway done if you take the creative approach. Wrasslin' those regulators out of the door is truly a PIA.
P.S. - those regulators are NOT cheap, nor is it necessary to replace it/them either. The above creative fix will cost under $10 ($4 for parts, $6 for a couple of Foster's)
Good luck
Kevin
