I am glad to hear the problem was identified. It sounded very familiar to my associate’s symptoms.
That is a lot of money, but automotive troubleshooting can be trying and difficult, and while it does suck to be on the paying end of things, the time was spent on troubleshooting the car and replacing poorly functioning parts.

On the bright side, you'll be driving your baby again soon.
