You may want to alter your practice of placing the transmission in neutral when you feel the vehicle is becoming possessed. The big "IF" is the engine management system, IF it does not recognize neutral then the engine MAY/WILL over run and destroy itself. Try using the cruise control switch to cancel (push forward) the current cruising speed, you may find it more effective then burning up brake pads. You may want to have your battery and charging system checked to ensure that they are in good order.

Please keep in mind that you are the vehicle owner, you are the one who drives the car, you are the one that can help the service represenatives address a potential safety related issue. Try to assemble a pattern of "How, When, What, Where and Why" this occurs. It seems very unusual, as well as unlikely, that a problem of this caliber could be occurring due to the amount of redundancy engineered into the system. You drive the car, we don’t therefore it is vitally important for you to communicate the failure pattern effectively so the potential fault in can be corrected.

Good luck and B
