John, apparently the shop didn't bother to road test the car after performing the brake/rotor work, or if your daughter was braking hard before the new brake pads were bedded in she may have caused the rotors to warp. If the shop failed to mention bedding in the brake pads with conservative stops for a few hundred miles it may be a good idea to look for a more conscientious independent for future work.
