Both should have similar torque , HP. 260 will be little less, perhaps a shorter stroke crank.
They won't built a smaller bore block, too costly.

You think a 300 engine will fit in a 201 2.6? Maybe the cross member , support is different. If it does then the 201 will be a pretty fast car.
