On my '87, the center of the dash sat on two posts sticking up from the center console. Short of removing the entire center console (which I did not want to do), it required a lot of effort to squeeze the dashboard over the posts. And then again getting it back over them, and back fitting properly again.

I'm not sure if anyone else has run into this problem, but I did at least.
