Have read many success stories of chipping the turbocharged 606, but only one with the nonturbo engine (Ziggy). He said that his ECM fried, but probably for reasons other than the chipping.
EGR and CCV mods are going to be slightly different between the non turbo and turbocharged engines, but have the same beneficial results. The Search mode will take you to 97E300D's EGR mod and Michakaveli's CCV post.
