Today I went out to buy a pair of outdoor boots to replace the 1987 models dryrotting in my closet. I set a budget of $120, thinking that I could find a workable pair. 3 stores and $200 later I'm the proud owner of a pair of Red Wings, the only thing that I could find that both fit and wasn't made of fiberboard. I won't even tell you what it's like to try to buy shirts and topcoats when you have a 37" sleeve.
When I had the basketball Jones bad I yearned to be 6'7" or 6'8" -- not too big -- 7 footers don't have the fun of a Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson -- I reached full height at 6'0" -- shoe size 11, average width.

I guess being NBA size could be a real drawback in some ways -- airplanes, average size beds, and one I never considered, expensive shoes with limited options.

Good luck with that -- thank God you can laugh at it. Or maybe you're not laughing at it.
