anyone know of a source for lovecraft filters?

I heard there is a replacement for the later model
'can and sock' filter that is pleated paper
with male thread on top.

anyone know of this?

or alternative?

thanks,

Bri

It is my understanding that Lovecrap went under. No idea where you can find parts. Might want to convert back to D2.

Is your flamesuit on? Are you seriously running your car on a lovecraft system?

Remove that abomination of a fuel system immediately! It will ruin your engine in due time. Either run veg oil the right way, or run diesel. Down with LoveCRAP!

When your engine coughs its last and belches a blob of veg oil on the ground, you'll come to realize your crime.

It has been proven countless times how horrible that system is. If you want to run veg oil, at least do it right!

Yes, there is a right way to run veggie. Lovecraft is not the right way proven by many dead cars.

Your Mercedes diesels should be immediately confiscated and given to some who really cares about them.
You belong on mass transit, not behind the wheel of such a fine automobile.

I do not want to get politically involved. Spare lovecraft filters can be found in many junked vehicles at salvage yards.

Exactly.

And that is what proves it to be such a terrible system. The people that bought, "converted", and then destroyed a good number of these cars, should be made to eat veg oil just like the poor engine had to!

Here is a pic that meets the description.

Glodenrod 496-5, 15 micron. Verify the part number on the actual filter that you have or run it through th WIX filter interchange.

http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/index.asp

Where I used to work our dispensing truck use these filters to pump fuel through to other vehicles. The filter elements are good but the threads on the Plastic Filter Bowel can easily be damage and they are difficult to keep from leaking if there is a lot of vehicle vibration.

OK, well, who didn't see that coming? The rational answer to the question is (at least from this crowd), first, please convert the car back to normal diesel only fuel system. Second, research the ups and downs of the ("name that is not spoken") legacy. And, three, decide what is best for you. As is now obvious, you won't get a lot of positive feedback on this forum, and possilbly for good reason. But, its your car, do as you wish. You may blow off the anti ("name that is not spoken") sentiment, but consider their complaints.
