Careful with that WVO in Virginia

Depending on how this is read, you might do something worthy of a Class I misdemeanor:

http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?101+ful+HB1322

Not sure what to think as I have just discovered this in a list of passed legislation - and not sure if it has been signed by the Governor. It's one of those things you have to read over multiple times to understand just what might apply to an individual.

But you don't want more than 165 gallons on you at any one time......

Finally....most of those using veg oil are evading road tax....and ruining cars. Its about time they get in trouble.

We have laws like this in California (what don't we have a law for in California)

not sure how I feel about the laws, but I think it was pretty funny when Arnold showed off running his Hummer on SVO from Costco. only to get a letter from the tax board for not paying road tax. that sparked a letter from the health department warning him not to used WVO with out a permit for transporting it, and paying his road tax.

You can't even be "Green" in our "Green" state because of the bureaucracy... I hate the state of California!

Yep, thats why I just buy it at the pump. I wish CA had more wide spread support for Bio, there is a station by my house that a frequent, but its only B5. I was able to buy B20 at truck stops in Texas, no special station, just said on the said of the pump "may contain up to 20% biodiesel"

The station by my house makes a big deal about advertising they have bio.

CA Support for Bio

Plenty of support my friend, more deep fryers per capita than jsut about anywhere I bet, and many restaurants give the used stuff away for free. two-tank greasecar.com system paid off in as little as 6 months of driving.

Why should I pay taxes when I get 50mpg running veg oil and the guy driving a hybrid or a diesel VW getting 50mpg not pay taxes?

You know, I'd gladly pay the honkin' road tax... I just have no idea how

And that Virginia law... $400, just for the permit?! Way to discourage the use of bio-fuels. Go global warming!

I say we ban WVO use nationwide. I will sign the "endangered vehicles act" as my first task as future president of this country. Grease belongs in fertilizer, not in fuel tanks.

From the standpoint of an honest MB technician, Vegetable oil is a threat to your diesel engine's mechanical integrity.

WHAT IS REALLY SAD, IS THAT MOST OF US CONSUME THAT NASTY WASTE VEG OIL THAT SITS IN THOSE FROTHY STORAGE CONTAINERS WHERE MICE, BUGS, USED MOTOR OIL, AND ALGAE CULTIVATE and ACCUMALATE!!!!

What do YOU think they do with all of that waste???

A lot of it goes back to a rendering plant where is it CLEANED? and put in dog food, cat, food, live stock food including POULTRY...THEN guess what we buy and EAT IT

Why should I pay taxes when I get 50mpg running veg oil and the guy driving a hybrid or a diesel VW getting 50mpg not pay taxes? I totally agree if they are going to tax boi fuels then they need to check the mileage on all the cars and tax accordingly! CAN you say FAIR tax that way nobody gets one over on the Gov't.

***I would love to go to a flat/fair tax instead of being RAPED with State/Fed taxes at the pump! NOT sure how much exactly BUT aorund .50-70 cents per GALLON
