Over the weekend, I left my 1996 C280 Sport outside, which I usually don't do. It rained, then the temps dropped, and when I tried to turn on radio, I heard antenna motor, but the mast didn't move at all. When I turned off the radio, the motor sounded again, but the antenna didn't move. I brough it into the garage and left it sit for 6 hours ( to thaw) and tried it again - I could pull mast up by hand but motor still didn't move the mast. I think the cable or whatever came off or broke. What do you think, and what's involved in fixing it. The car has built-in cell phone too.

Sounds like the plastic cable that moves the mast is broken. The motor may spit it out after removing the mast, if not then the motor must be removed & disassembled to remove cable.
