I have a 81 300SD and it has the original Beacker radiow/ cassette player. The radio works fine but I cannot insert a tape into the deck. I pushed open the door and saw that there are the two red things sticking down that spin the cassette in the way. Anybody have any ideas on how to et those things up? Also I cant figure out what the buttons mean or what they stand for. Could there be like an insert tape button? Thanks in advance.

Same problem here
We are having the same problem. Same car, same year, even the same mileage. Weird.
Our radio works fine (though it fades out a bit when driving downtown or around tall buildings) but the tape player just clicks like it's trying to change sides, then spits out the tape. As to why it does that, or more importantly, how to fix it, I'm at a loss. "Uncle Owen, it looks like this droid has a bad motivator. Look!" "Hey, what kind of junk are you trying to push on us? We'll take that blue R2 unit instead." |

yea that is wierd. I cant even get the tape into the cassete deck though. I pulled out the whole thing and found that there are an aweful lot of spliced wires aka not factory. do you think you could get your radio out and take a picture of the wires and how they connect and what not?
