2ohm bose with a non bose unit
A freind of mine wants to put bose speakers with a non bose car.....this is a w202 with stock head...but he just wants the front doors done...can it work or will something fry or blowup? The bose are 2ohm.
If this doesnt work I beleive the same door drivers (4.5") are available 4ohm used in the home audio units...he can use those?

I believe, and someone correct me if I am wrong, that the 2ohm speakers will either pull more power from the internal amplifier, and it may possibly create to much of a load and overheat the internal amplifier. It could also possibly overpower the speakers and damage them. I'm not an expert, I've just dabbled in a little bit of car stereo, but I think 4ohm speakers are your best bet, but I would double check.
