Question Pressing hard on brake pedal stops music?

On my w124, I have 5.25 infinitys in the dash (yes i got them to fit) and kicker 5.25's in the back powered by a jensen 4ch amp. two Dual 12's in the trunk with boss amp pushing it. All connected by equalizer to a lanzar mp3 deck.

When im driving and sometimes cant make the yellow light i press on the brake hard and it cuts out the music
Im thinking its interfering with the ABS system.

What do you guys think?

Greasybenz.

First things first.

Is all the gear that you have securly mounted?
Meaning, is everything bolted down and thight?

Example: My amp is bolted to my subbox but
the box is not bolted to the floor of the car.
So on occassion when braking hard the box
might slide forward a little and cause the
interconnects to be pulled ever so lightly.
But just enough to stop the music for a few seconds.

If yes then I would start looking for wires behind
the brake pedal that could be stretched or pulled
while braking hard.
Make sure that no power, ground or signal wires
are close to moving parts.
When in doubt zip tie them to other wires or solid
mounts so they don't have the chance to move.

Louis.

Well the sub box isnt bolted down but i hardly use it and it hasnt moved from its spot as its pretty heavy. i only use it when i feel like getting beat with bass, the amp is bolted onto the box. The 4ch jensen is secured under the passanger side carpet and in its position it doesnt move. All the wires are tapped together and the grounds are all on the body of the car, for the 4ch amp the ground wire is on a fender bolt. The equalizer ground is connected along with the battery ground.

The amp for the sub ground is right abot on the sheet metal below the med kit and rear speakers. I sanded off the black paint to expose the bare metal underneath and connected the ground onto the bare metal.

Where is the 12v supply for the amps hooked to...If it is not direct to the battery that is what your problem is..The brake lights draw a lot of current and put the amp into protection....

its directly onto the battery, its very strange. When i first turn on the radio the jensen amp is in protection mode for about 4 seconds then the music comes on and its fine.

Another thing that will put it into protection is when the radio volume is set above 30 with the subs on. It will go into a protection mode for 2 seconds then turn back on and then again protection for 2 seconds....so on and so on.

I have to keep the volume in the 25 range for it to not go into protection with the subs running.
