CD button on 1998 E430
I have a question about the CD player button on my 98 E430. I installed an Ipod interface that turns on when you push the cd button but it stopped working. I want to know if you push the cd button is says something like "no CD" just like the tape button says "no tape". I want to know if it is the the button or the Ipod interface. I can't remember what it used to do when the interface was not hooked up and the changer was out. So to sum things up can someone just push their CD button when the changer is gone or unplugged to see if I have a problem with the button connection or the actual interface? Thank you in advance.

Dave, I have a 1998 E430 and I also use an iPod interface, made by GROM audio, is that the one you have (from indashpc)?
Before I installed the iPod interface, when I pushed the CD button and there was no CD player hooked up, I think it read 'no cd'. C.

Yes that is the interface that I have. It worked great when it was working. Now when I push the button nothing happens so I think it may be the contact on the button. The interface still charges the ipod so it is still hooked up. I guess I will remove the head unit and try to check the contact under the button. Thanks for the quick response.
