nav sys error CD rom read error

My 2000 ML430 nav system will not read the CD rom. It says read error. Bought new CD and still getting the same error message. How do I clear it and get my system to work?

It has all systems with 6 cd changer,tele,tape,wb,radio am&fm,nav 2000 cd #2. I bought 2002-1 cd#2.
