Becker 1692 problem
3 years ago I pulled the Becker 1692 from my 1996 E300D when I added an after-market stereo. The radio has been sitting in my closet and I pulled it out this weekend.
I made up a simple wiring harness - ground, +12 constant, and +12 "ignition". If I hook up the ground and constant, the red security light flashes. If I hook up the ground, +12 constant and +12 ignition I can not get the radio to turn on. I thought that maybe I needed to leave it "on" for 24 hours so I did, but it never turns on. I can't get anything at all to display. I would like to put this in my 280SE if I could get it to work. Any ideas? |

You probably have to enter the stereo security code.
If you didn't write it down on the chassis it was probably written in the OEM car's or Stereo's manual, or you can get the code from the dealer by giving them your VIN of the car it was originally installed. Or maybe Becker [www.beckerautosound.com] will give it to you. |
