Radio Code ?

A local scrap yard just got a 93 300ES in. Yeah, it's a C4C job in fabulous shape, cosmetically at least. I'm guessing it had some of the notorious & expensive W140 problems that made the former owner trade it in.
Anyway, it has a factory stereo/cassette with a 5CD changer in the trunk. I know cassettes are passe but the cassette version of the iPod adapter works great compared to the ones that use a radio frequency. I was thinking about picking it up ($20) as it will fit right up in my 91 300E, but I couldn't find the radio code written anywhere. I did find the former owners name and address so i could probably call him and ask, but I was wondering what can be done about activating a MB radio when the code is missing.

You can't do a lot
What do you need is the VIN number of the car. Go to your local MB dealer with receipt for the purchase from the scrap yard so they know that is not stolen. Ask the scrap yard to write the VIN on the receipt. They will give you the code 30 sec flat.

Thanks Pavka, that should work fine! They know me pretty well at the dealer so it shouldn't be a problem. I didn't even think about that.
