w201 back speaker size???
Does anybody know the exact size of the back speakers in a 1988 w201? All I've read so far is that they're small and that everybody replaces them but nobody has said the exact size of them.

I believe they are a 6" ( mine were not original ) I replaced mine with mb quart this did take some modification to the rear shelf ( not the metal just the fiber board ) they sure sound good .

Original Factory Rears on my brothers 85 190e were 4"
I would not put anything smaller than 6" even if it meant cutting, a good pair of 6" seperates would be a great choice, and adding some seperates up front wouldn't hurt if you want to go all out, you can do a full custom job. When I change speakers in my car, you will find that you will not notice there are different speakers int he car. I like having mine in the factory locations behind factory grills and covers, Stealth install is best In my opinion unless it is so custom that it looks factory.. Alon
