FM reception stopped working in '91 Becker - any fix?

What does one do to remedy non-working FM reception?

Can these be sent to Becker for rebuild? Cost?

Any insight appreciated, thanks!

First think's first... double check the connections at the antenna and tuner in the trunk.

Thats what I was going to suggest also. The antenna, at least in my setup, only goes form it to the brain box on the right side of the trunk. From there control is sent to the head unit.

I do not know if it works, but I have a brain box from my 91 sitting on a shelf. My sound system was hacked up bad by the PO. But they may have done so IF the existing system was shot. Not sure. But if I can get it tested and you need it, I have one.

The tuner from your W126 probably won't work in his W124: It probably doesn't have the internal amp hooked up. At least that's how mine is.

If you have any questions about the system let me know... I spent a lot of time un-hacking the JVC a prior owner had installed in my car.

Inside the tuner are several modules. Before giving up on it you might try taking it apart and reseating the modules. They all have gold contacts so there shouldn't be any corrosion, but for a free troubleshooting step it can't hurt.
