Becker 1432 questions
I recently got a 1992 300E with the 1432 radio. The head unit displays properly and the cassette player works, but I get no radio reception. The seek and scan functions find nothing, just endless searching. I can manually enter a known strong station but hear nothing. The antenna also does not go up when I turn the radio on.
Questions - Does the receiver control the antenna is it the power button on the h/u? How can I test the antenna? Should I be able to get some reception with it down? (I'm about 10-15 miles from Nashville) All the cables to the receiver are plugged in. I replaced the spade fuse on the receiver. (It was missing when I got the car.) I'm assuming that since the cassette part works, the amp is OK. That would make the receiver the problem. Are used ones available at a reasonable cost? I'm not very audio-savvy and I do appreciate any help I can get. Thanks-Ken
