how do subs sound with diesel?
i just bought a alpine 7873 cd player, a mtx rt 2120 200watt amp, and (2) 10 inch subs in a box . I am also planniing on replacing the stock speakers but i was wondering how subs sound in a diesel, in terms of the clarity in which you can hear them inside and outside of the car. Also i was wondering if 200watts from the amp would be enough to make the subs be heard in the cabbin ( the deck is 240watts with a bass engine) or should i persue gettinga identical amp and bridgeing them together? thanks

if u are not looking to make a crazy loud car then 200 watts should be enough. it also depends on what box u will have for your subs. sealed are generally better sound quality, but a ported box will make it louder (about 4 decibels)..
on these cars the gas tank is behind the rear seats, this can be a problem since a lof of the bass will be reflected backwards. this is my approach: http://www.sounddomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=153498&page=6 after i sounddeaden the trunk it sound very good. if u have any more questions feel free to e-mail me. ned_keyuravong@yahoo.com |
