Hello fellow members,
I just began to look for a CD changer for the 2002 C230K as it is supposedly CD changer ready, however, I tried to look for the wiring harness around the glove compartment but with no avail. Here are some questions: (1) Is the CD-changer of a fiber optic type connection (part numbers) ? (2) Do I need extra harness to connect the changer to the factory deck, or is it pre-wired ? if so where can I locate the wires ? (3) Is it necessary to remove the glove compartment and/or center console to install the CD changer ? I tried but could not completely remove the top part of the glove compartment as it attaches to the center console. Thanks in advance for your help.. Albert |

It is fiber optic and you don't need to remove the glove box to get it in. The three conductor power harnees is behind the radio to the left of the glove box. The trick is getting the ac vent out so you can remove the trim panel around the radio to get the radio out. This will allow the connection of the fiber optics to the radio and the access to the power. When you get your cd changer there is a special bracket that allows easy mounting in the glove box.
