I have searched several forums for all the information that I can find regarding the antenna connections built into the 2002 ML 320. I have removed the MCS and located the antenna wire coming from the rear of the MCS unit as well as the two unconnected antenna wires with male connectors bundled in the wiring bundle behind the MCS. I have not been able to locate any splitter located behind the MCS. Tracing the antenna wire from the back of the MCS leads to a wrapped bundle of wires that drops down into the carpet just above the gas pedal. The two unconnected antenna wires mentioned before are also in that bundle. Neither of those antenna wires is connected to the antenna (per signal testing.)
I located the antenna connection under the black box bolted under the passenger seat. There is a 'live' antenna connection there, apparently from the Teleaid unit. There is also an unconnected antenna wire with a female connector. It appears that the splitter is located somewhere between the MCS and the black box under the passnger seat. I do not have a NAV system nor the Timeport phone. The only thing that I know of using the roof antenna is the Teleaid system. Does anyone know what the three unconnected antenna wires are for (two behind the MCS, one under the passenger seat)? IS one fo the wires behind the MCS the other end of the unconnected wire under the passenger seat? I assume that they are somehow used for the GPS and Timeport units, if installed. Should the splitter be under the passenger seat and is not installed since I have only one user of the roof antenna (Teleaid)? If the splitter is under the center console, how is that removed? I have removed the two screws at the base of the hinge as well as the two plastic rivet-like screws at the front of lower compartment in the storage compartment but could not get the velvet-lined box to come out. Any direction provided would be appreciated. Thanks...Bill |

the splitter off the teleaid antenna is not installed into the car till the stock phone is installed.(it is part of the phone kit) The splitter goes under the pass seat. I would suggest to you if you are trying to add an aftermarket cell phone the best way to do it is to add a internal glass mount antenna as the splitter is not availiable seperately and will not switch without the factory phone.
