Replacing cd changer in 1994 C-280

To SCLJA: Thanks for the quick answer Scott. I don't quite understand the need for an adaptor cable since the alpine unit has a 10 point plug in. Do you mean the chm-s630 does not have the 10 pt. plug. Maybe that's it. What is m-bus? I haven't tried your way of removing the cartridge but will let you know how it worked later.

The adapter converts the cars 10 pin rectangular connector to the alpine 8 pin round din connector. Alpine M-bus is the earlier cd changer format and Ai-net is the later format (units that are ai-net have an A in the model # and M-bus has an M in the model #)
