Retrofitting a COMAND system into an early US W203

I bought one of the very first 203 cars in the US. It was before the COMAND system was available. At that time I asked if the COMAND system would be retrofittable. They, very honestly, answered that it would not be practical because of a different GPS antenna and wiring harness.

Does anyone know anything any different than this? Has anyone retrofitted or know of anyone retrofitting this to the earliest 203 cars?

Thanks and have a great day,

I retrofitted several comands in W203s during my last stay in the states...and some other comands in 208, 210, 163 and even 202 (complete with multifunctional steering wheel and newstyle (display) dashcluster).

greetingz,

Mark Cummins did the COMMAND install in his W210:

You might try e-mailing him for advise. I've met him on several GTG's, and he's a heckuva nice guy.
