280 - radio cuts out on hot days
My 1975 original Becker radio quits when the outside temperature hits 90 degrees. Anything under 90, it always works. Doesn't seem to be in the radio as the passenger compartment is nice and cool due to excellent AC system. Radio power indicator doesn't even come on when hot. If I start driving the car when temp is below 90 and drive on a long trip until the outside temp is above 90 the radio stays on. When shutting off the car and immediatly restarting it, the radio will no longer work. When it quits I still have power at the radio fuse. Is there something else controlling power between fuse and radio (relay or other thermal protection)?

The WD shows the radio getting power from the ignition switch. So if you are in position 1 "radio" or 2 "run" you should have power to the radio.
It sounds to me like some sort of thermal relay or other problem in the radio is doing it. FWIW, I have two dead Beckers that will not show a light or work when power is applied. I would direct this question to Ed Ebel - eebel@beckerautosound.com. Please keep us posted.
