380 SEC strobe lights

I went from a stock radio to a Blaupunkt and when the volume is @ 1/2 the interior light blinks with the music. At night, headlights and a/c on the interior light blinking becomes a dangerous distraction so I switch it from on when doors are open to off, @ 1/2 volume the radio cuts off, then turns on,then off again until I adjust the volume.
thinking the radio is crap,I installed a Sony, same deal w/the interior light, same deal with it shutting off.
I installed direct battery power w/fuse to the radio, same cutoff problem.
I don't want to go back to a stock radio, but it seems the only option.
Is the MB fader the problem? It has new speakers.
Anybody in the market for a slightly used Sony or Blaupunkt?
joe

you need to replace the speakers also because the ohm load is different and run all new speaker wires to each speaker.

Where does that head unit get its power from? From the same source that feeds the interior ligting?

Get the power directly from the battery. You'll need to pull a wire through the firewall, but it's no biggie. But don't forget to place a fuse on your new wire. -As close to the bettery as possible.

the fix

the end of this is ,opening any door killed radio power. turns out the constant 12v to the radio, key off, loaded down all 12v.
added a $5. relay to key on 12v that connected directly to battery.
ran separate rear spker. wires.
now ,the interior light is on when door is unlocked, before door is opened, the fuel gauge doesn't stick at 1/2 then directly to 1/4.
maxium amp power, full volume ,no power cutoff.
