Just brought a black 1998 C230 home tonight .

I bought the factory changer on ebay and ordered a bracket from the dealer today. I was looking through the stereo manual tonight and it shows a picture of the changer in a cloth bag made out of the similar material as the trunk carperting. Does the bracket attach to the bag and the changer just sits in it or does the bracket attach to the changer. i am wondering if i have to call back the dealer to get the bag also.

To get the true factory look, you'll need the install kit from your dealer. I think it's about $100 or so...

The cd changer mounts to the bracket and the cover goes over the bracket once the cd changer is mounted to it, then the bracket mounts to the car. The carpet cover is not necessary but it gives a more finished look.
