Question Cd Changer 1999 C230 Kompressor

Does anyone have any information on adding a Cd changer for a 1999 C230. So far I have found out that the Cd changer goes in the trunk, is this correct. I have found the fiber optic cable and another cable , which looks like the power supply to the unit. Are there brackets that need to be installed to obviously hold the unit? And how difficult is this too do ? I've been told that all that needs to be done is to attach the 2 cables in the trunk to the Cd changer. There are various car stereo websites that offer the MB Cd changer, starting from $460.00 including the brackets up to $625.00. Does anyone know of a reputable stereo website? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So far you're doing good on you assumptions. There is a required brackey which holds the changer in the vertical position on the pocket on the right side of the trunk. It is a fiber optic system, the radio needs to have some of it's programming changed to allow the changer to work properly, the dealer or a shop with the proper computer (diagnosis tool, such as SDS) can make the changes, it's simple to do. Changer itself is very easy to install.
As far as another website, not really sure.
aklim can contact the moderator of this forum to enquire about a cd changer.

CD changer for 1999 C230

Have you found a CD changer yet? My friends have a brand new Mercedes changer with the nice vertical holder(factory) that fits in the pass side trunk well. It played one song to test it and they traded for an ML320. E-mail me pmount@carrollsweb.com if you still need one(it will be very reasonable)
