No sound on Becker player
I have a MB 240TE 1999 with av Becker Special Be2210, 2238 and cd-changer, the sound is gone, the player is power on and all the cables is ok on the back of the player: It started with the sound comming and going and now no sound at all. Is't that the amp it busted??? Is the amp on the right side in back??? If the amp is busted is it possible to change player and not use the amp??
THX any help is as good as none |

Yes, could be the amp went bad.
Yes, the amp is normally on the right side... not positive on your model. You could replace the amp (junkyard... www.car-parts.com). If you buy another head unit, you could bypass the amps as well. First, I'd find out exactly what's wrong.

Look at www.beckerautosound.com That is the USA division of Becker. Becker is a very reputable company and can repair your unit if you should choose to continue to use it. You'll have to track down the European info. There may be a repair shop in your area authorized by Becker.
But that doesn't answer the question of which component has failed. I don't know how I can help you out in that regard. An after market ( all in one head unit ) system in this car is a major problem due to the amount of re-wiring necessary. Essentially, you just abandon all the original wiring intact and run new wires to all the new gear. Good Luck. Tod
