Scott: you are Da' MAN! Thanks for all your previous contributions: I ran the search using your member name and got 9 pages of solid advice!

Speakers are on the vertical plane, low on the front of dash: just put some 6 1/2" 3-way Pioneers on the package shelf...

What size speaker will fit in this front dash position and will be a good match for the Pioneers? Have yet to upgrade the head unit but will probably go with one of your Alpine am/fm/CD recommendations. Not trying to win any contests, just want to be able to better enjoy the radio & listen to my CD's.

I use a 4 inch coaxial speaker eclpise pioneer etc.. Just don't want something with a tweeter that sticks out more than a 1/4 inch past the speaker frame.
