How to fix lower left seat bolster?
I just bought 85 300sd and the driver seat lower left bolster is frayed and ripped. About a 5" X 6" spot. Is it possible to fix this without having the whole seatback done?

2 resources:
colorplus.com leatherique.com Do you have leather or MB Tex? I thought the diesels tended to get MB Tex, but it wears like iron so I am assuming you have leather. If the upholstery is actually ripped, you need to glue in a patch UNDER the rip, then fill the gap from above with a patching compound obtained from one of the above companies. Both also make dye to match MB leather or vinyl. Colorplus has it in stock in MB colors, and Leatherique will custom mix a color for you. I haven't actually patched rips but if you get the free brochure from colorplus it gives very detailed instructions.

I had the same problem with my 86 SL. The bolster section should be reparable by itself. The leather guy I brought mine to just replaced the leather on that section. It costed me about 300.00 dollars. You can't tell that it was repaird.
