Pretty cool. But is the world ready for a 26 hp (?) Royal Enfield-like diesel, lol?

Let the pesants drive their gassers.
I shall be astride my trusty Diesel Motorcycle, riding like a king, with smug thoughts of suck my diesel, as I pass the gassers of the world.

WH, does this mean the 100+ mpg Centaurus that specs out comparable to the legendary reliable 350cc Honda from years ago can NOW been sighted on North American highways?

Gotta love the racket that diesel makes as recorded on audio linked to the site you've provided...... could even earn the respect of gangsters riding rumbling harley choppers.

I've been trying get a dsl Enfield used from SA or Europe into the sates for a long time since WA state regs won't allow a new untitled one but now that Enfield is out of the dsl bike business here's some options. The links may be/been included in some above posted links but worth a look anyway if a dsl scoot interests you.

Royal Enfield Motorcycles have been made in India from early fifities, as a matter of fact the entire company was sold to the Indian manufacturers. They have made a diesel version due to its huge demands from rural areas and the engine used has been the Greaves Lombard pumpset engine, minor conversion work done to it to accomodate it on the motorcycle, I dont know where the 26bhp figure came from but the ones sold here are around 4.5bhp.

I know a few years ago we had a thread about diesel motorcycles, but I don't know if that one is still around. It might have been one of the fabled ones created by TXBill

Ya gotta love that picture! Started out with what must have been a K100 standard, but he added a 3 spoke rear wheel to it, and whatever in the heck else he did I'm sure someone could figure out, gotta love the rear case on the seat, and all the cobbled brackets, ie for the kickstand, muffler, etc.
Also the 2 guys checking it out and the one guy "hiding" behind it; owner?
I think I'll grow a bushy moustache and wear a leather coat to a cycle rally so I can walk around with my hands behind my back and "squint" at things.
There's always gotta be a few guys at those things who like keeping their hands behind their back. I suspect they drive crotch rockets and it's some sort of therapy.

Diesel Motorcycle

It will be a looong time before we will see these as a commercially viable endeavor in the US!

Here's a diesel-electric bike which runs at a claimed 0-60 in 6 seconds and gets 180 mpg: http://www.ecycle.com/powersports/hybrid.htm.

Or a slightly slower military motorcycle being developed for civilian use, which gets 105 mpg: http://www.f1engineering.com/info-form.htm. And another look: http://www.f1engineering.com/index.html.
