Toolaholics Anonymous?

They threw me out as a hopeless tool addict.
To find a bore scope cheap, check with medical supply firms, hospitals and doctors.
I got one from a doctor when he closed his office; it fell from a hoist, eight years ago.

wonderful tools

I've used a Welch Allyn borescope and their ophthalmoscope for years. Very handy. A bit pricy.

We had the first use for the borescope today. We were installing the transmission in a 79 300SD which has the frame crossmember in front of the back of the engine which makes installing the torque converter a bit difficult. You can see when the bolt holes of the flex plate are there, but the angle doesn't allow you to see very well if the torque converter threads are lined up. Using the borescope, we got the alignment right in seconds...

I figure I saved at least 50 swear words which computes to about 5 bucks a swear word so far.
