Do i need a new injection pump?
I just did a complete engine swap on my 1985 300SD. The guy i bought it from said it ran fine up untill when it ran out of oil and seized, i used the same injection pump from the old engine on the new one. I cant get any fuel from it after bleeding the lines over and over and over, do i need a new IP?? Is there anything i can check??
If so is this ok?? >> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7923435251&category=33554&sspagename=WDVW |

I don't know the answer to your first question. The second question, I would question! $75 Hmmmm???
Used IP's that are any good run $300 and up, as far as I have recently checked so I could set a fair price for the one I have for sale. My 82 617, out of a 300DT w/160K, it may be the same as you are looking for and I have listed it here, in parts section for $150 plus ship. Steve............ |

The injecition pump is lubricated by the engine oil on that engine, so it could have it fact damaged the pump, but I would think the engine would die before the damage could extend to the pump.
Thanks David
