If you have a vacuum tester then You'll need to remove the vacuum line from the stop diaphram on the injector pump and check it for leaks. If you pull the vacuum line off and there is oil in there then you'll need to replace the shutdown solenoid.

If you're new to diesels then please reasise that they don't shutdown immediately, they usually have a small delay. Try shutting it down manually (lever on side of the injector pump, see owners manual) and compare this whit shutting it down with the key.
