Trans X

Just added Trans X to a recently installed transmission in my 240D. The tranny had been sitting outside for 3 years. It made a world of difference. It just keeps geting better the more I drive it. Again, can you leave it in there for a while or should it be drained and replaced w/ fresh fluid and filter when all seems normal? Thanks, Joe

trans-x

I have an '84 300DT and trans-x worked great at first but after 90 miles my shifting problem persisted.
Don't make the same mistake that I made by buying a junk yard tranny unless you are 100% certain of it. Spend a few extra dollars and save yourself a head ache.

Finally got the car back and the tranny shifts great, although I ahve to adjust it as I prefer the shifts to be more firm.

There is no more slamming into reverse when you put it in gear.

I forgot how the adjustments on the tranny go. I think that the modulator t-valve? adjusts the firmness of the shift, and the one up at the throttle linkage? adjusts the length. Or is it vice versa?

Any help appreciated.

BTW, I don't think Tran X would have worked on mine. Whewn the guy was taking it apart, I saw all the clutches and bands, etc.. and they were very brittle. Now time for the paint job...

to be honest, I never asked what the failure was. All I know is I saw the tranny removed, gutted and all new clutches, seals, etc... replaced with genuine Mercedes parts.

I shifts really good now, although sometimes it shifts a bit quick between 3 and 4th gear. Ill take it back in a week or so for him to check out.

I have a 12month 12k warrantly so I'm not real worried.

Thanks
