Pictures of Pearl

Hi All- I took a few pics of Pearl today, next to her soon to be winter home. She's quite ordinary, and could use some detailing, but I love her to death anyway! She was violated the third day I had her- some punk took her hood-star!

Nice appearance. What do you replace Pearl with during the cold months?

She is absolutely beautiful!

I just hate to hear stories like yours, about reckless, random, vandalism.
The same thing just happened to my brother with his "new to him" C-class, along with some collateral damage. He just bought a "bra" to hide the damage. What a shame!

Beautiful car though! I rode in one like that in the early seventies, I believe. It cemented my desire to own a Mercedes diesel "some day".

This Gangsta must think it's still 1989, nobody wears MB emblems anymore! That went out with carrying boomboxes on your shoulder while walking down the street.

What we need is a hood star electric shock mod.

Wierd thing is- I live in a very small, quaint College town (Mount Allison)- lot's of international students- very low crime. We still think nothing of leaving our doors open- kind of like the good old days. It was a "football night"- I think the Mt.-A team had actually won a game (very rare!) and you could hear the celebration going on into the night. Got up the next morning, and the star was gone! Somebody knew how to butcher an old Benz, that's for sure!

Actually, I always thought it was Deadheads, and not Gangsta's that ripped the badges from VW's and MB's. If so, it must be "Neo-Deadheads", because I usually have Grateful Dead tunes plugged into Pearl's "VW Premium" radio- and I would never think of doing such a thing to anybody's ride. But then, I'm pushin' 50!

Actually, I've never winter-stored a car before. Previous vehicles have been year round- all VW's except for a recent bout with a Ford Focus Zetec, which I managed to unload before getting the 300D. My wife has a '98 Cavalier, so that will do us through the winter, and with Pearl in the barn, I'll be longing for spring even more. My wife is a freelance writer, and I work from a home office mostly, so I'm sure it'll work out fine. For occasional business trips, I have to rent a ride anyway. (I think I'll rent a new Chrysler 300 first opportunity!)

Thumbs up

Hello,
That is a nice 300D, wish I could get my mitts on a W115 3 litre diesel, according to the importer, only ten ever made it to Malaysia, badged as 240D 3.0. The 220/240Ds there are plenty still tooling around.
BTW, my W115 200 has had the hood star ripped off twice in less than a year.
Have a good week.
