300 SDL - No Heat

My heater won't start working for about 20miles, and this is consistent. I'll get in the 300 SDL every morning and turn the heat on. Nothing happens of course for about 18 miles then inside the dash, you hear what appears to a, "clicking" noise. that last for about 2 to 3 min. and then presto you have heat. Once the heat comes on it blows out, the side vents, can't get any heat for the upper dash to defrost the windshield and the middle vents forget it. Feels like someone breathing on you. Is this a problem with the "Climate Control" system. Also maybe vacuum?

Could be a couple of things.

There's a cold lock out switch that stops the heater from blowing out air until the coolant temp is above 33 deg C. Could be that the switch is not working.

Could be that the temperature control module isn't working either as it also controls the monovalve, center vents, and footwell vents.

You have to get a W140 to get warm air from the center vents. The W126 ACC closes the center vents in heat modes.

Very strange that you don't get heat from the defrost vents. The default position for the defrost vents is open. If they're closed in defrost mode, it could be your ACC controller acting up.

where is the "cold lock out switch" located. Also could it be a faulty monovalve giving me some problems. Whats the test?

It's one of those two sensors located on the right front of the engine. Don't know which one it is yet. I'll keep lookin'.
