Front License Plate bracket - easy question
All; my inherited '85 300TD came without the front license plate backet. Ordered and received the part yesterday, but it is only the bracket, no additional hardware.
Obviously it bolts to the bottom of the front bumper, can someone provide a brief description of that hardware? There are also two holes in the rubber trim strip (but no holes through the bumper itself), are there some sort of locating pins that are attached to the back side of the bracket that index into these holes in the trim strip? What are these like, and any chance I could find an equivalent at a local hardware store? I was looking at the salvage yards for a used piece, but came up empty. Didn't want to order new because of the lack of "patina", but had no option. Thanks, Dave |

All you need is a pair of nuts, bolts and washers. Bolt the bracket on from underneath the bumper. No "indexing" required.

'85 300TD
Probably doesn't apply but if its a 'gray market' car the bracket could be different.
