external block heater???

i want to put a external water heater in the heater hose lines, but there are so many where would it work best? my "regular" block heater quit and it impossible to get to for a normal human. i acually bought a replacement buy can not see any way to get to the location without tearing the car apart.
any suggestions?

Did you do a search ? This has been discussed... and I have posted pictures of one style which matches what you are describing... The watts needed was discussed.....and I think several sources....

As your existing block heater fits into a Freeze plug, and since normally there are several other freeze plugs in the engine, perhaps you can find an alternate freeze plug that is more accessible into which you can install a new block heater. You can just leave the old block heater where it is.

Just an idea.

using search is fine if you know exactly the word to use, otherwise you must look through hundreds of threads trying to find what you want. so, if you know the name of the thread that info was in, i would appreciate it.

If you already have a block heater it is very easy to replace the heater element. The hard part is removing the original freeze plug, once that is out and a heater is in, the heater can be replaced easily.

Try ' block heater' in the advanced search with Leathermang in the poster box...that should narrow them down...
But sometimes it is necessary to just read lots of threads.... when people KNOW a subject has been covered well in the archives... they often don't look at a new thread with that in the subject.....
