93 300D 2.5 Turbo will not shut off

Seems like another problem cropped up this morning, as the car will not shut off! I guess the key switch turns some sort of vacuum shut off to turn the car off?

If anyone is finding time weighing heavily on thier hands and could explain what is going on here?
