W123 Td Oil Cooler Rant
I started my week end project: the oil cooler lines on Dieter. I just removed the oil cooler and as I feared, the threads are basically gone. Here are my thoughts:
Can the nipples on the oil cooler be replaced/ repaired? I have a spare non-turbo oil cooler with good threads.... I know that the turbo cooler offers 33% more cooling surface, (6 tubes non-turbo, 8 tubes turbo) I am tempted to try it based on the notion that one of the tubes on the td cooler receives poor air circulation and that diesel are more efficent the hotter they run.. Anyone have experience with this issue?
