What to do when asking for help!!!
When asking for help with something what is so hard about telling folks what kind of car you are driving??? Why do you ask about hard starting and not include where you are and the weather?? Why so secretive about everything, including yourself???

Sometimes it can be implyed by a persons sig, if they have only one car listed, but thats no excuse. Its very difficult trying to answer and usually only a vague answer is possible with out specific information.

That information is classified. I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you.

ya, it is so much more thoughtful to have your location and car model listed in every posting. I suppose some folks just have not figured out how to use the signature, took me a while too.
So for you anonymous slackers : click "User CP" in upper left corner, click "Edit Signature" on left hand side, enter the goods in the dialogue box, save changes. Thanks in advance for your anticipated cooperation

I have noticed this trend across the board, I am active on several different motorcycle boards, and as they mature and membership and post count grows, more and more people seem to give less and less data. No location, no profile, thread titles that tell you little or nothing about the subject, etc. etc. Kinda frustrating, but they end up hurting their own efforts more then anything.

that reminds me of the customer...
that came into my Home Depot while at work. He picked up a switch and then asked me "is this what I need?" then he waited for me to respond.

In many cases
A picture would be a big help.
Leaks. Body questions. Vehicle value questions. Engine vacuum routing questions. Etc. Etc.

Need to know
"Sir, I am unaware of any such activity or operation - nor would
I be disposed to discuss such an operation if it did in fact exist, sir."

I drove an E320 CDI and liked the Dodge better for room and the ride in the Dodge is better. I aslo drove a used E320 wagon AWD and it compares more with the Magnum except for wheelbase, but again it is not as roomy or have as nice a ride as the Magnum. It's all about the 120 inch wheelbase and overall length is 198 inches. The rear door is a real hoot the way it opens. I can open the rear door with the rear bumper about foot from the garage door. My garage is 25 x 25 ft with 2 foot deep work bench across the front of the garage so it's a tight squeeze when parking the Magnum in the garage. Now for the real news, this car listed for $24,000 and I gave $18,900 for it. I might trade up to better equipted Magnum in a couple of years with AWD if there are no problems with the car or nothing on the market I like better.

This is a thread about forum ettiquette, and we have been recently discussing on another thread why folks should search archives and not just make up new threads; i.e. extra noise.
When I read a thread that has gone way off track, i.e. "highjacked," I understand better why someone would not want to read through all the irrelevant debris. What does "Not to hijack the thread" mean exactly, when you do just that?

I have wondered at times why some even bother to join these forums as they are so cryptic about what they drive and where in the country they are located.
