91 300D Transmission Fluid Change Problems/Questions?!?

Hi, I just changed my AT fluid. First, the car owner's guide thing says a fluid change should take 5.5 L (initial fill is 6.something L). I definitely did not get 5.5 L out of the transmission when draining the old fluid. I probably got about 4 L. I added about 4 L after changing the filter and the gasket. The dipstick reading shows the level as too high. I drained about half a liter. It's still too high.

The reading was also too high before I changed it.

I am not sure what I should do... it seems hard to get a good reading off the dipstick. Does anyone else find this? Also what about fluid change volume?

At a loss right now...

Or, I just wondered, was I supposed to have drained the torque converter too, and if so would that make up for the "missing" fluid?

Ahah! Found the answer in my continued searching after posting.. sorry about that.
