Was web surfing on cars.com & trader.com and saw this White 240D-4 speed a guy was selling and mileage Listed was 602,000. I called the seller but the car already was traded in for a newbie. I farther asked the owner what was wrong with the car as I figured the motor HAD to either have been rebuilt or a 2nd engine installed. Wrong--it was Original--farthermore he told me, only a little smoke on startup and otherwise then "Meticulous oil changes and Maintenence" by the book at Exact mileage intervals-the car also never had a valve job.The Ext. was religiously washed and waxed and showed it. He was asking $1500 but as he had no takers at this price, he traded and would not disclose for how much. "Truly an amazing car" he said as he ended the conversation-he wasn't a long winded talker like I am so I was not able to engage him in a lengthy conversation on the finer points of mercedes diesel cars. The car looked pretty nice-white ext./blue int. no visible rust. And I would agree-truly an amazing car.
