broken vacuum valve w123
I just picked up an '82 300d and with the good advice from this forum .....and am happy with my purchase for 1200 bucks. This car is much better than I thought it would be! I think I am really going to be into this car!
Well I've been searching various threads regarding vacuum systems and still have not found what I need. Car does not shut off or lock, vacuum pump pulling about 22 inches at the larger black line but the main air port or valve that comes off the the larger black diameter main vacuum line leading to the brake booster looks as though it has a one way valve with one port and an orofice ( it is broken). Question is.. I have two lines plugged in here... one line was stuffed into the orofice( the white, or clear line) and another separate line that has a four way distributer going to the firewall plugged in the port that is actally meant to be used. All of the diagrams I have seen show one port on this valve, not two and if so, where should the four way connecter that goes to the firewall plug into? I believe the four way with yellow check valve operates door locks and climate control? Probably clear as mud right. Is this valve only available at the dealer? Have not seen it at Fastlane ...And where does the four way with yellow check valve go? My factory manuals are on the way, so I am being impatient with this. Thanks, .... but sorry for starting another vacuum thread.

Did you try this thread? It is mostly engine vacuum controls, but has a few for the locking system.
As for Fastlane, Phil can usually get parts that may not be listed on the website if you call. Tommorow I will go out and take a picture of my cars lines in that area, a PO might have messed with them somewhat. The main big black line should have 2 connections on it, one gos to the transmission/egr, the other supplys the rest of the cars vac systems. This is an easy section and want to make sure is correct as a base for further diagnoses.
