Anyone else getting mail from "Diesel"?
For months I've been getting virus mail from this address (spoofed I'm sure): diesel@mbz.org
All of which have various "attachments", inevitably virus's. I get about 2-6 per day from this same email. My first inclination is to suspect bigbabboon or one of his cohorts. Anyone else getting these?

That's the address of the diesel mailing list which has been around forever, so if you're getting anything but mailing list postings from it, they're definitely spoofed.

I thought Richard Sexton operated mbz.org Or didn't Rusty in GA buy the rights to it?

Tom,
Its mostly likely spoofed. Richard hates attachments. The next time you get one, open your details section of the Properties area and you can see which IP it originated from. Copy and paste the entire "details" area in an email to me and I can trace it. I'll let you know whose IP its originating from. Send it to me at my office, I'll send you an email (or PM) and give you my address.

TomJ sent me an email and the spoofed emails are coming from a Comcast Cable IP address. The IP address is completely different from mbz.org, its a "forged" header. Don't respond to it, delete it.

Could be someone on the list with a bug themselves...
Good chance it is someone on the mailing list that has a virus smtp self mailer and it is spoofing the address from the original message sender i.e. diesel@mbz.org
Poor basta_d needs a good virus scanning...

Well, Comcast didn't do SQUAT for the emails, I'm still getting 2-8 per day. In fact, Comcast didn't even respond.

Can't you just install an email filter that will delete any and all emails originating from his email address?
