So I'm back from vacation and my car neglected to fix itself while I was gone - so -
symptoms are: nothing works from the climate control. The heater fan does not work under any conditions and the dial temp selector has no effect on the small amount of air coming out of the vents (and I do mean small). The air flow 'off' button does shut down this small amount air flow. Also this small air flow does seem to get directed to dash, floor or windshield. I've checked the fuse in the fuse box for the ACC and the 30 amp fuse going to the heater motor. Both have voltage on both sides. I pulled out the auto climate control unit and it has voltage on at least 5 of the 30 wires going to it.
I was going to dig into the heater motor but thought that since this ACC unit is acting wierd, that might not be the best place to start. So where is the best place to start?
Would a vacuum leak shut down the ACC unit. Door locks work fine as does the engine shut off so there is some vacuum somewhere. Does anyone know the location of the power wire going to the he heater blower?
thanks in advance,
Dean
p.s. the vacation was to a hot climate so I'm now really freezing in that big German ice box now.
